World taking cues from White House media bashing

The recent expulsion and reinstatement of CNN’s White House reporter Jim Acosta might have been of major interest to those in the journalism world, but its message went beyond Washington.
Acosta’s reinstatement was ordered by a federal judge after CNN went to court to challenge the ad hoc revocation of the reporter’s press credentials to the White House. The White House said it was because the reporter was disruptive, but it was obvious that the root cause was deeper – President Donald Trump did not like the reporter, his questions or his employer. Thus, he was banished, but not without some good televised histrionics (perhaps another part of the problem).
