In 1949, Syracuse radical triggered Supreme Court free-speech error that echoes today

Seventy years ago today (March 8), Irving Feiner was arrested on a Syracuse street corner. The arrest for disorderly conduct and subsequent conviction took Feiner, a Syracuse University student at the time, all the way to the United States Supreme Court, arguing, unsuccessfully, for his First Amendment right to free speech.
