“It can hardly be argued that either students or teachers shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate.” – Justice Abe Fortas, Tinker v. Des Moines

The Tully Center presents a conversation with Mary Beth Tinker, petitioner from the landmark Supreme Court case Tinker v. Des Moines. Ms. Tinker and Tully Center Director Roy Gutterman will take a look back at the case and discuss the changing landscape for speech in schools including the impact of the web and mobile technology.
